We are Richard and Glenda Johnson and we live in a small town in central Nova Scotia.  We share a small hobby farm with our three Bernese, Bruin, Nan and Jillee as well as our faithful Lab, Benson and two horses.  I run my own pet grooming shop in our home which allows me to spend a great amount of time with my “furry kids”.

My first encounter with a Bernese was in 1988 while working in at a local veterinary clinic.  It was love at first sight.  I made a vow that I would one day own one of these beautiful dogs.  Fifteen years later in 2003, Nan joined our family, and as the saying goes “They are like potato chips, you can’t stop at one”. Since then we have rounded our family out with Bruin, Jillee and Lucy, and I am sure there will be more.

We are very passionate about our dogs and take great care in choosing perfect homes for our puppies.  I tell every prospective owner that they have to prove to me that they can provide as good a home or better than what I have here before I even consider placing a puppy in their care.

If you are interested in a Bernese puppy please research the breed to be sure this is the right dog for you.  Talk to current owners and your veterinarian to get some unbiased opinions about the breed and bloodlines.  Don’t be afraid to ask questions, better to be informed and knowledgeable.  A responsible breeder will disclose all that is good and bad about the breed.

Please feel free to contact us about any questions you may have or just to talk “Bernese”.  We are always happy to speak with anyone who is interested in these wonderful dogs.
